Mike Smith started building his first car with the help of his dad, a 1925 T Roadster (which he still has) at the age of 12. He finished the car when he was 15. As Mike grew, his passion for hot rods grew with him.After building cars in his garage after work for several years, he thought he might want to make his passion his profession and build cars full time. In January of 2001 a good friend and customer, John Labelle, convinced Mike to take the big step and quit his regular job (with a regular paycheck) to pursue his dreams. Nervous and with a family to support, Mike followed his passion and he now uses his talent doing what he really loves to do. Mike's many customers have also benefited from his decision to build hot rods for a living.The shop started in the two-car garage at Mike's house. By September of 2001, he had outgrown the garage and needed additional help. Mike brought on his dad, Leroy Smith to help out building these hot rods in the new 1740 s.f. building. By May of 2003, Mike had outgrown the first building and moved into a 3600 s.f. shop. In July of 2007, Mike purchased his own 4000 s.f. building, which currently houses the operation.
